Haven Two
Haven Two is an 18-month transitional housing and employment program, which provides women and their children with a comprehensive approach to attaining self-sufficiency. The program includes:
- Low income housing for up to 18 months
- Job counseling and referrals
- Group and individual counseling for children
- Individual, group, and family counseling
- Educational workshops to build skills and self-esteem
In 2006 the Haven Two apartment complex suffered severe water damage to 10 apartments. Home Aid, a non-profit that helps rehab shelters, took us on as a project. Working with New Urban West and some individual and corporate donors, including the Weingart Foundation, the apartments were completely restored. Home Aid and New Urban West were able to get much of the labor donated or discounted including carpeting, dry wall, referigerators, cabinets, bathtubs and much more. We are grateful for their partnership on this project.
In 2007 25 women and 53 children resided in Haven Two
